Cairo, December 5, 2022 — The Egyptian Company for Cosmetics (ECC) participated in the National Initiative for Industrial Development (IBDAA’) in the new city of Mansoura launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This initiative aims at localizing modern industry and reducing the import gap.

Dr. Mohamed Salah, CEO of the Egyptian Company for Cosmetics (ECC), confirmed that the “National Initiative for Industrial Development” (IBDAA’) is very important and its role is effective and influential on the ground, as this initiative was able to facilitate many things for companies. Further, the presence of this initiative was a great support for the private sector companies, and its continuation is the most important factor to support the Egyptian industry. There is an excellent opportunity to export cosmetics to the African countries considering quality and competitive prices in these markets.

“ECC maintains good manufacturing steps (GMP) with international companies to produce the best local product that competes with the imported products. The company also seeks to pay attention to integrated industries and allocate production lines for plastic packages to reduce imports from abroad, indicating that the company is in the process of opening its factory for nutritional supplements during the coming period.”,  Dr. Mohamed Salah added. “We provide our products to 350 companies, and 5 international companies in the field of cosmetics. We also export our products to 22 countries around the world, He said.

In his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Dr. Mohamed Salah promised to make the necessary efforts to leverage the value of the Egyptian cosmetic products in the local and global markets. As ECC Board of Directors aims to transfer the company to become a regional hub for manufacturing and packaging cosmetics in the Middle East, and to reduce the gap between the local and imported products.

We have also organized workshops with offshore companies to transfer technology and good manufacturing processes. We have supported and worked on the ​​​​integrative industries idea. We have built production lines for the plastic industries to meet our needs and requirements for packaging instead of importing them from abroad”. He added: “The company manufactures products for major international companies in Egypt and exports them abroad.

It’s worthy to mention that last September, the Egyptian Company for Cosmetics (ECC) acquired “Source Beauty” digital platform e-commerce, the first platform for marketing and selling cosmetics in Egypt.
